lynx 455 garage door opener

I have a Lynx 455 garage door opener. One day I shut the door and did not see a recycle box underneath. The door did not close but I guess the motor kept running. I noticed 10 minutes later so I tried to get it back up but the control button. When you press the buttom you can hear the motor engaging but the door does not open. Can you suggest whats wrong and can you recommend with a repair.
