well thats a tough one to answer...1- call a door company and ask for a price for the install, you might be suprised at how reasonable the price may be...never hurts to ask , right
- if you get a pro to install the door you'll be entitled to some installation warranty (which is worth its weight in gold in my opinion)
- depends on how mechanically inclined you are as well...what might take you all day to do will only take a pro 1.5 to 3 hours...depends what your time is worth to you i suppose...
- doesn't matter what model/make/design whatever, all doors have some sort of spring loaded counterbalance thingamajig that has the potential to literally remove multiple appendages if you screw something up...and it aint hard to do that if you never saw one before and make a mistake...no reputable installer will ever attempt to explain how to safely wind a spring in a forum or over the phone....not in good conscience...just imagine accidently grabbing the pto on the back of a tractor...
- i've done lots of service calls over the years where the customer has attempted to install a door and they can't get to run quite right, their bill is usually equal or more to what an actual install would've been...alot of companies charge the same for an install as for an (1)hourly service call rate...good luck
